I've been wanting to do a print of a pelican for ages. In March I was lucky enough to see the Vermeer exhibition at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, and after my visit I had a good wander around the main collection where I found an amazing painting featuring this handsome pelican ( see photo 3 ) I immediately knew that he was my inspiration for my pelican print. I drew the painting to get the feel of the pelican and then I was ready to start work.

It's a 4 block linocut so lots of carving and challenging registering to make sure all the blocks line up ( see photo 5)

Please note, colours may vary slightly from screens to paper

All prints are unique and each contain minor variations.

Print will be sent in a postal tube as this is the safest option for a print of this size.
